For online play, this game NEEDS the anti-cheat test, if not a better one. I do not care if people think I am bragging, but I get accused of having a modified plane on a regular basis. Some pilots who only think they know EVERYTHING about flying a certain plane automatically assume that anyone who can out-turn, out-climb, out-roll, or out-shoot them HAS to be using a modified plane.
I do not have the slightest clue about how to change the skins, much less modify the flight models. Rather than spending time making a skin that no one else can see, I spend my time flying and fighting, hopefully getting better. But if someone wants to cheat, they end up cheating themselves, because the will teach themselves bad habits. So, over the long run, cheaters become poor pilots.
I know lots of pilots who are experimenting with the game, and all that is GREAT. But if they want to get together and do some testing, there are other lobbies that allow modified flight models or they could fly with a direct IP connection. If there are enough experimenters here at HyperLobby, then please create another lobby what would be open for them to play and experiment. Or just show up at the WWII Fighters Lobby on a Friday night and ask for the address to that other lobby.
This poll is not fair, and using it to justify removing the anti-cheat test would not be right. Only a few people even know the poll is here, to say nothing of the new pilots who might come in the future. The fact is, WWII Fighters is on its last leg. I have gotten used to being called a cheat, but it can be annoying. At least for now, good pilots have the anti-cheat test to stand on. Once the word spreads that people can fly modified planes in the WWII Fighters lobby, old and new pilots will start thinking that anyone who is good just might be cheating. That could be the last thing that happens to this cool game. I hope that is not what anyone wants. |

Bluesteel has some good points.
Maybe host launch option to turn it on or off ? |

Sounds like very good idea, i like it. It will be very nice if WW2F lobby to be similiar to IL-2 lobby, all the game options, controlled by host. Jiri, what u think?

Obsolete?? Has someone cracked it and never told me??? I've been playing WW2F on HL for three years now. The anti cheat keeps things honest.
(BTW, Jiri. How come you never send me invoices? I would like to know where to send my membership fee.)
Anyway, I vote NO. In FB the flight model, etc. etc is known to all and all must fly under the same settings. But in WW2F, you can hide that fact that your plane is 'different' then the others in the game.
Keep the anti-cheat. I agree with the posters above, though. A mod/non-mod option would be a nice addition.

I think it is still needed since the FMs can be easily moded although that can be spotted easily IF you are familiar with the sim.
Although I do wish we could fly Target's FMs here. |

Perhaps Jiri could do the WWII Fighters lobby similar to
the old Jane's based hyper lobby.
Flag the users name with an "O" for original flight models
and an "H" for hacked flight models.
Or perhaps a different color font to ID original FM's.
This will allow "revised" flight models and wire frames to be used.
Presently the WWII Fighters lobby is mostly empty, this might
add some life to the old (but excellent) combat flight sim.

Nope.
You live in Archangle Russia?
Cool, my uncle had three gasoline tankers
torpedoed from under him on the Murmansk/Archangle run.
That's somewhat of a record because most did not survive
a sinking, let alone three.
Amethyst.
PS: No, I have not voted. |

It is to much of a bother to flag "O"riginal flight models
vs. "M"odded flight models like the old Jane's version
of Hyper?
