This may or may not fix the problem in Windows. If it does, please let me know.
(1) (Using Windows 98se) Go to => Start => Settings => Control Panel => Add/Remove Programs => Install/Uninstall tab
(2) Choose/highlight "Microsoft Internet Explorer"
(3) Click on "Add/Remove"
(4) Choose "Repair Internet Explorer", and click on "OK"
I use Windows 98se, and connect to the Internet a dial-up connection with AOL as my ISP. I have been getting Error Socket 10060 messages for over a year. After doing the above, I am now able to connect to HL every time.

Yes please respond back if this fix works for 98 users or NT. It will help other users with the same problem. |
