A squad´s mate has serious problems getting FB started via the Hyperlobby client. After reading all relevant posting - I guess I did so - I´m still not able to help him ...
Okay, here´s a description of his problem:

And then after starting a new game on hyperlobby it quit starting after showing the first small startscreen when i set my clock back to 2002 then it started with the the seccond startscreen (brown coloured) and that was showing RC04 ???
Any ideas, folks?

Interesting problem. In my english version my start screen says "V 1.21"
Some problems are caused by people deleting programs from hard discs. They should be uninstalled.
Turning the clock back is not needed in the offical patch. Why it would say RC4 is confusing for me as you.
Try to manualy set the game pathway. (see the manual section 7)
He better do it step by step..
1. install game and see if it works offline.
2. Patch game to version 1.21 and see if it works (V1.0 > 1.21 is 116mb`s) see if it works offline. http://www.3dgamers.com/games/il2sturmovik2/
3.Reinstall HL client and try to join a dogfight server.
