I started getting "runtime error 7 out of memery" when starting HL
I tried everything including the msvbvm50.. even reinstalling windows...nothing worked until I found this...http://download.microsoft.com/download/msninvestor/patch/1.0/win98/en-us/mcrepair.exe

... the same way as sfc, i think Smile but more easier.

I ran sfc and that didnt do it...go figure Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the link! I got that error message yesterday and nailed it down to the tool "Loman". I installed it yesterday for the first time and after you've rebooted your computer, you can see that some changes to the windows setup had been made. Right after that, i had a problem with my Internet Explorer and that i couldn't open a link in a second Window and that the HL would give me the runtime error 7.
By using this McRepair.exe, i managed to fix it but i guess it only works, when i deinstall Loman.

Great John glad it helped and yes I for me it was the same I had uninstall firefox browser

same problem here but all the tips i find on the forum not work forme. i have always the same error

with the previous version all was good i change the client i play one tim and now it doesn't work anymore

i reinstall the previous version but i got the same error
