Tried hosting a Lock On room for first time last evening- All went quite well but a friend of mine in the HL was watching me stumble through the posting of the room and told me that my lag bar was 5 in the red. This strikes me as odd as I have a pretty capable computer, and a 3mb down/ 256 up cable ISP. I host all the time outside of HL, with few issues. Is there a step by step to opening a room on HL? This way I can confirm I did it right.. I noted the pings were all much higher (250) than what they would typically be (>120), but- I know that depends on a lot of things.. There was no complaints of lag in the room- but the 5 red bars thing is annoying me Wink Does flying/ spectating in my own server make a difference? Connection settings in the game itself? Thanks for any advice. Computer specs should not be an issue. All close to top line stuff.
