Hyperlobby worked just fine with the last version. Now the window comes up, with my nickname already there as usual. I type my password, and it just sits there saying "connecting" forever. No luck connecting no matter how long I wait. Then, if I close the window and try to reopen it, I can't. It will not respons either from the desktop icon or fromt he start menue. I have to to reboot.
Any help with this would be appreciated, I'm getting rather frustrated.
I'm running XP
NetGear fireWall (never any issues)
Norton Internet Security and Anti Virus (applied "always allow connect" for Hyperlobby, but I usually disable it anyway when flying onliine.

It's enabled in Windows Firewall, but do I have to do something now with the hardware firewall? I never messed with that before, and HL always worked fine before. |

Enables port 2100, now it works.
Shouldn't this issue be documented in the installation readme perhaps? I've heard of it regarding HOSTING, but never to just be able to connect.
Thanks

But thats not the port of HL, Its the port IL-2 series uses.
If you have trouble hosting then 1698 TCP is HL's. |

yeah but I wasn't having trouble hosting, I was having trouble even getting HL to connect. So, knowing that, does it make sense now or do you think it was some kind of DO NOT READ THIS IS SPAM :D? |

Your Netgear should only need port forwarding if hosting games.
Not connecting to the HL or joining games.
Is this through your Netgear router or software firewall?
Maybe it is Nortans then.
You could always shut down port 21000 again and test it.
If you are talking about Nortans then if you ever decide to uninstall it, make sure it does not uninstall important system files as well. You see it replaces them with its own and takes them on uninstall leaving the user with a big problem. (unless they have fixed this as I have not touched that software in years) |

NetGear hardware firewall. The Windows software firewall wasn't causing any issues, I even disabled it to make sure. |
