Hi,

This really is weird and this has started to happen after moving to the newest version. When I have flown in some server via Hyperlobby and I disconnect, the HL doesn't reconnect. It just says "connecting" and doesn't respond any more. (Someone else was having this same problem too I see.) But the weirdest thing is, that after this has happened, I can't connect to internet with some applications at all. For example, Firefox doesn't even start (it's just hanging on the backround as a process but not as an application) and IE cannot find any websites. MSN messenger or Skype won't connect either. Il-2FB is able to connect to a server, when using a direct IP, and TeamSpeak works also.

I have checked that there shouldn't be any processes (hlpro.exe and aping.exe) related to HL running on the backround, but the only thing that makes my computer work again is rebooting. And I'd rather not reboot after every time I fly in Bellum or something..

I've reinstalled the HL at least ten times with no luck. I've done it without any other applications running, and I've deleted any files related to HL after installing again. I haven't cleaned the registery completely though, because the HL has always remembered my account when I have opened it after installing.

Another weird thing is, that this problem didn't excist when I first installed the newest version. It crashed often but it didn't mess up my other connections. I reinstalled it after the crashes and now, as you can see (or read), it's even worse.

My computer:

ADM Athlon 2000+ xp
512 Mt memory
GF4 MX420
Windows XP Home (Finnish version)
Internet connection via a cable modem and usb-port (512/128)

And the sim I'm using: Il-2 FB + AEP + PF 3.04m

Thanks already for your time.

Well, it seems to be possible.. Rolling Eyes

And I won't format my whole computer just because this (I have a lot of little programs needed in airplane desing etc. that I don't wont to reinstall), so I hope you can find a solution.

Now I just finished a coop that my friend was hosting, and this time HL returned to log-in screen and when I tried to log in, I received the same "runtime error" message that someone was complaining about in another topic. And now also other applications work. Weird..

But to sum it up, I have similar problems than others (that error message and freezing when trying to log in) and as an extra, I get these internet problems. Maybe if you can solve those "normal" problems, this one can disappear too.

And as a reminder, the earlier version did work, so could any changes you have made affect the program like this?

Yep, I know (mentioned it in my message). Wink

But the point is, that solving those two already mentioned problems can maybe also solve mine because they're connected to each other.

the new version is still buggy, players get kicked because their connection crashes (also Teamspeak). The same players dont have the problem with version .80, they had it much more with .90, they have it spontaneusly now after some minutes with .92. It happens only when the players are IN the game, not when they hang out at HL. My settings are VERY relaxed to accommodate also dial up users...

THe bug is NOT really fixed. Something is strange. Rolling Eyes

BTW, the players which get kicekd have DSL connections, are within Germany and Britain, have low pings under 100, tehy are people i host regularly. I havent changed anything on my computer except HL....

also with .92 again and again on tuesday 22.2, evening, HL didnt respond and answered with socket errors...

and to add: its at least three people out of our group of twelve....

its the same as with .90, only less frequent.
When we discovered .90 didnt work we reverted to .80 and all was perfect, not its back and we cant use .80 anymore.... Mad

can we have .80 back ??

Hi,

Now I have some update to my problem, hopefully it could help to find a solution.

That whole crashing (that messes up my computer) seems to happen only when I'm flying the Bellum war missions. When disconnected from a normal server or when playing normal coop hosted by my friend via HL everything goes ok. HL may still crash in the end, but my internet connection keeps on working. But when I fly in Bellum, the main problem occurs.

I tried opening Firefox before I disconnected from Bellum mission, and it worked. But when I closed Firefox (after closing HL) and tried to reopen it, Firefox didn't open any more. Weird.

I discovered also another strange thing that happens. Teamspeak works well, but it won't close itself. If I want to close it completely, I have to close the process from task manager.

I haven't tried the newest version yet, but if it solves the problem, I'll inform about it.

Regards,
