~S all, in il-2 i could host with firewall on with NO problems. in FB i cannot host with firewall on! i have NOT changed any fw settings. WHAT has changed in FB/HL room????? OS is XP pro, i use XP firewall, cable conn-speed 10.0Mbps i can join games with fw on. NEED a fix to host WITH firewall please

Im not sure what has changed, Nothing that I am aware of...Jiri might enlighten us?
I have xp(home) firewall turned off and use zone alarm (free version)
I find it works well and I was amazed at the amount of programs that were contacting the net without me knowing about it.

i have also the ZoneAlarm free version, but although i put my dsl connection with HL into the trusted zone with only medium security (people should be able to see my computer according to ZonaAlarm ) people cant see my ping in Forgotten Battles ! Bad if you want to host !!
Even if ZoneAlarm is only running but i put it into trusted mode with low protection=protection off ! people still cant see my Ping !!! It is present only when i shut Zonealarm down completely. Didnt have this problem with Sygate personal firewall 5. , but therefore others. ZonaAlarm seems to be quite a good program, but i am not going to use it anymore if i cant find a solution to this ping stuff, as i am hosting regularly. I read in HL manual that some Firewalls disable ICPM , i dont know what this is, but i suppose thats the problem. So what can i do ? What is the ip of HL anyway Jiri ?

ZA is pretty stupid piece of the software. It cant configure whish port and protocol can be used for each application I had good experince with the "Kerio personal firewal" , but it need some more knowledge about TCP/IP ... Just i not use any personal firewall because more than year i behind a hardware firewall. All settings regarding firewall setup covering the FAQ. But i have no idea how to setup ZA
