My dedicated server is limited to 8 players, when anyone else tries to join after 8 players are on the server, they get a 8 player limit error message onscreen and can't join.

I've checked my hlpro.ini file and set it to MaxPlayers=32, and my Ded Server confs.ini is set to serverChannels=32.

When players look at the game info they see 32 player slots but only eight can join.

Also, when I set the settings and click info, the settings revert when I click to start the room, and I have to reset them again before I push start.

Then, things like disabling cloud or turbulence don't seem to work correctly.

Next, I have the game installed and set up on the Server PC. I switch the il2fb.exe to the full game using ctrl + shift at HL connect, and everything works perfectly!!

So, it's something to do with my dedicated server.

I set the server up by manually editing the confs.ini, server.cmd, and rcu file.

confs.ini is normal with 32 players set.

The server.cmd basically
f realism
f localip
f gc.cmd

this is the realism script....

difficulty SeparateEStart 1
difficulty ComplexEManagement 1
difficulty EngineOverheat 1
difficulty TorqueGyroEffects 1
difficulty FlutterEffect 1
difficulty WindTurbulence 1
difficulty StallsSpins 1
difficulty Vulnerability 1
difficulty BlackoutsRedouts 1
difficulty RealisticGunnery 1
difficulty LimitedAmmo 1
difficulty LimitedFuel 1
difficulty CockpitAlwaysOn 0
difficulty NoOutsideViews 0
difficulty HeadShake 1
difficulty NoIcons 0
difficulty NoPadlock 0
difficulty Clouds 1
difficulty NoInstantSuccess 1
difficulty TakeoffLanding 1
difficulty RealisticLandings 1
difficulty NoMapIcons 1
difficulty NoMinimapPath 0
difficulty NoSpeedBar 0

The rcu file sets up my aliases:
@set fast off
@set echo on
@set alias on
@set history 20
@alias a alias
@a h history
@a s show
@alias f file
@alias k kick#
@alias m mission LOAD
@alias c chat

Could that realism script be messing with the HL settings? I don't see how, because the game hasn't yet launched and the script is not yet run.....

Also, that does not explain why my player numbers show up in HL as 32, but there is an actual limit, complete with error messages of 8 players.

Can anyone help ? Please ?

Edit: I fixed most of the problems with workarounds. If anyone knows a neat way to fix this please reply.

Ded Server confs.ini needed to be set to serverChannels=31 to avoid conflict with HL as HL counts the server as 1 player and it seems to conflict and set hyperlobby to default of 8 players....... strange, does this sound right?
