Hello,
I was reading this thread while tyring to install winex onto a remote server. To be honest, I'm wondering if it was worth the time.

That is because I have not yet discovered a way to fork an X server process and disconnect from the server without terminating the program, such as hyperlobby.

I am planning on installing 1946 to the linux box, and the server itself has a command line interface, using FBdaemon. If there were a way to run hyperlobby from the command line, then listing the server on hyperlobby would be simple.

However, using VNC or XDMCP to launch cedega or wine, it would be difficult to keep the session running once I disconnect from the server.

So. I am wondering if there is any workaround for this? maybe a command line interface for hyperlobby or perhaps a way to fork the process over and detach it from the login shell? I suppose I could leave the session on the box active after disconnect with XDMCP, but... that raises all sorts of questions, and would be about as secure as leaving a VNC shell running on the server would be.

Thanks,
