When trying to join a game hosted by a mate I get an error message during the startup if IL2 Sturmovik saying "Cannot connect to server - timeout"

Any ideas?

I have added both IL2 and Hyper lobby as exceptions in my windows firewall, but I'm also running through a linksys router.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Im experiencing it too. It means that you were banned for some reason. Its probably only a 24 hour ban.

I am having the same problem since around March 26, 2007. This is specifically what I get when trying to connect to HyperLobby (version 3.9.111)

Quote:
Error Socket: 10060 The attempt to connect timed out

Quote:
Connecting the HyperLobby server failed. Please check your firewall configuration. HyperLobby program (hlpro.exe) must have enabled access to the Internet !

I have added Socket 10060 to the allowed list. I have also added hlpro.exe to the program list, which is allowed to connect automatically. I even tried disabling my Firewall. No go.

I also cannot connect to the hyperfighter.sk website. I checked with my ISP if they are maybe blocking the site, but they didn't find any restrictions.

Let's help each other if any of us figures out a way to get back into the game (literally)

Hi Guys,
Im suffering exactly the same problem with exactly the same symtoms,
although i can join late at night 11.30 GMT and after,
so i think its something to do with the "Ping" from Hyperlobby.
The new version (3.9.11) seems to be very sensitive to ISP loading,
my ISP denys there is anything wrong at their end (though they would) i definately feel it is some thing to do with the new version of Hyperlobby, but what to do about it i dont know!

What country are you from, and who is your ISP?

Hi Guys,

I'm in Australia, and I'm trying to join a game with a mate in the UK. Have tried a few simple things, such as him hosting, me hosting, join a game hosted by a stranger etc etc.
I can't see any reason why I'd be banned? I've never used it before? I can log into hyperlobby itself with no problems, but when I try to join a game, it's no-go. Sad

I personally cannot even see this website from home - have to enter it from the office. I cannot start up HyperLobby either - it gets stuck while loading.

I am in USA and my ISP is Verizon.

I was on the telephone with them twice already - we reset all the settings to lowest security, disabled all the firewalls and antivirus protection, disconnected the router - still no-go on all counts.

Can somebody help - can we revert to an earlier version of HL that worked for everybody?

HELP!

You can be banned for stupid things on HyperLobby. I was banned for jokingly questioning whether Quebec was a type of food or a place in Canada. Judging by your comments I doubt you were banned....

Just keep harrassing the people-who-know-things for answers. I know its frustrating when you can't progress your fledging pilot career

I cannot connect to HL either. Up until a couple of weeks ago I kept receiving error message Error Socket: 10060 you must set up firewall to allow HL to connect to internet. Now I receive error message 10061: Connection forcefully closed.

I have contacted my ISP and they swear that they were not blocking incoming traffic. I spoke with Level 3 supervisor so far (next levwel up is owner of ISP company Smile )

All my problems started around March 26 - I don't know what happened, but suddenly both my computers lost ability to connect to HL and the Hyperfighter website.

I can still connect to Hyperfighter website if I use a proxi server though which hides my IP address.

Strange stuff...

hamachi is a tool that simulates a lan, but over the internet, dont think its what you have as you prob dont have hamachi. but if you do, go into your network connections, right click on hamachi and say dissable.

Hyperlobby needs port 20999 and the IL2 game needs port 21000 open.
You should be able to do this in your router settings. If you are still having problems, go to this link:

http://www.portforward.com/

This is my suggestion!

Good luck.
