I am unable to play because unable to find game instalation folder. I have carried out search on c:\ and found the following only: c:\programfiles\ubisoft\eagledynamics\lockon\lockon.exe
However, when this its tried it is rejected because: 'can't find game executable on this path'.
Can anyone help me to find the executable path that will enable me to play lock on?
Thank you John |

You have to double click that path, to get it work, and then press "save". Weird that this is 120 times read and no one has helped.. |

Find the folder that IL2 1946 resides in, find the il2fb.exe.
The full path may need to be typed, or copied and pasted.
It should look something like this.
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe
There are many custom installations, or different drives.
Your's may be different. So don't copy and paste the above.
It may work, but if you are in a folder(s) of different name(s)
or drive letter it will not.
I will check this thread over the next few days, if you have a question
I may be able to help, I have HL running in Vista Ultimate.
I also had to manualy insert the path.

I noticed you lack a .EXE file in your path.
I have not got Lockon and am unaware of the name of the .EXE file.
But it must be a part of the manually inputed path.

Hello all, before I speak of my problem I would would first like to thank Jiri and the rest of the people who have made Hyperloby. In theory it seems like a great place for all to meet and find others for multiplayer use. Firstly I'm a noob to this and have just begun to get back into flight sims and I'm ready to take to the skys. Anyways, I'm having tremendous difficulty getting Hyperlobby to to recognise my exe path. I'm currently running il2fb.exe for IL-2 1946 and unfortunately my path isnt recognised. Unique to my system is the fact I have IL-2 1946 installed on my D:\ drive which is also my Vista OS. For the record I also have it installed omn my C:\ drive which is my XP OS. In either case I get an error when trying to direct HL to my game path. My primary path I would like to use is "D:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe" for what ever reason HL doesnt like this location and cannot find or recognise the path. I have cut and pasted the locaton direct from my shortcut and also have put it in manually, my game version has been patched to ver 8m. Lastly, if I want to join the Forgotten Battles lobby (where many people seem to hang out) do I have to change and or rename the game path to "D:\Games\Forgotten Battles\il2fb.exe" Will my game version work within the FB lobby? BTW, I did try that on my C:\ drive installation and it still did not work, are the games required to be on te OS drive? I know the exe is the same name, are there any differences. When I join the lobby I see games and their green bar status, if I can get the path to work i should be good, correct? Anyways. Any help would be very much appreciated.
OK couple of other things I think may be relavent, yes, I have used the auto-search, it only finds the games when I point to the C:\ drive as the first drive to search. It instantly finds my renamed path C:\Forgotten Battles\il2fb.exe (this is a renamed version of "C:\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe") it also then finds the "D:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe" when I pick either one HL wont recognise the path... sorry about the long post, I just thought a detailed account would be best...
thanks again all... |

No "quotes" are allowed on the path line.

The command line should look similar to this.
C:\Program Files \Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe
Or, if you have a 64 bit OS such as Vista64 or XP64
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe
Note there are no "" on the beginning or end of the line.
If you are running Vista, you need administrators rights.
Here is a procedure to set up a Administrators desk top.

Here is what I see:
c:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\lockon.exe
c:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Backup_1.1\lockon.exe
with this comming up afterward :
Hyperlobby can't found game installation!!!!
You will no be able to acces mission slots & run the game.
That is exactly what I see does anyone have a good solution. Thank you. |

Try manually pasting the command line
c:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\lockon.exe
instead of having HL do the automatic search.
