Hyperlobby cannot find executable path for game

Does anyone know what I can do to be able to have Hyperlobby correctly recognize the executable path for IL-2 1946? I've been trying for a long time now and it won't find a correct path when I have it search and it won't accept the path when I type it in. Any tricks to this one? I just got the game and am anxiously awaiting to play online. I've played the game alone and all works fine. I click on the path and the game opens fine. I need some serious help. Can't find the answers. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled both hyperlobby and the game a few times already. I downloaded the new version of hyperlobby v 3.9.111.

I'm having the same exact problem that you are having, however I still have not found the problem with it. i've tried running as administrator and xp settings and neither solve it. Can someone out there help us? please

I too have the exact same problem. I have windows xp and have uninstalled and reinstalled Hyperlobby at least 5 times. I have done all the
copy and paste and rename for the exe path and icon. I am not new to computers or flight sims but I just cannot figure this one out. I have searched the net and found many other people with the same problem.
Some of the fixes help some of the people but many , like me still have
the exact same problem.
any new idea's would be greatly appreciated

I found if you

1. Rename the exacutable file in the IL-2 1946 file to IL2

2. Copy and paste the path "mine for example is C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946"

3. You must then add the IL2.exe so it'll look like "C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946/il2.exe

4. You should now be able to get on the IL-2 1946 forum

I found this out because I looked at the screen that shows the example of the path that it is looking for. To log on with Forgotten battles you have to change the exacutable to il2fb.exe

Notes: there should be no need to add the ".exe" to the exacutble just change the il2xx to il2.

Thanks for the advice , but sadly I tried everything you mentioned exactly as you stated but still no luck. I must be jinxed.
I'll just keep watching forums and hopefully someday someone will figure
it out.

FINALLY !!!!!
After completely uninstalling IL 2 Sturmovic 1946 and reinstalling it, and then patching up to 4.08m .....it works !
I did not have to rename any icons.
I tried everything that was posted here , but until I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game for the second time did it finally work.

I have a problem with HyperLobby finding the EXE file also
Reinstalled game
Patched
Changed folder name to il2.exe from il2fb

HyperLobby still cannot find game path
Game works fine

wow this seems like a whole lot of effort for minimum reward,,ive tried all this and more,, cant get online what a pain in the AZZ,,

going for a blast on AH2,, at least i know i can get on there....

seems noone replies in here and there is little support,,,,

It's time for a stickey on this subject.

If HL can not find the path you got to follow the FAQ procedure and
manually tell it where it is!

This dialog can be forced by pressing CTRL+SHIFT and left-clicking on the CONNECT button. There are two ways to enter the correct game-installation folder:1. Type the game path into the text box with the name of the game executable, for example "C:my gamegameapp.exe", then press the Save button.
2. Left-click the Search button and wait until HL finds your game folder. Then double-click on the correct item and select save.
If you think that both of these methods have failed, right-click your game icon, select properties, and copy and paste the game path into the textbox and left-click the Save button. (If nothing works, try reading this manual from the beginning.)

The patc might look like this

"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe"
or, for 64 bit OS
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe"

If you are running (yuk) Vista you may need complete Administrators rights.
