Hi everyone,
This may be a stupid question and I'm terribly sorry if its already been answered. But you guys seem like a friendly bunch, so here goes. I believe I made an unfortunate decision of buying IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 via Steam. When I start the game and go under MP no servers show up, and there are no servers on Steam. I came upon this forum through my searches on Google and I've downloaded HL just to find out that I have no IL2.exe file anywhere (because stupid Steam has it in some other format).
So, my question is, are the ip addresses for the games on HL posted anywhere. And if not, how can I play multi-player?
EDIT: Nevermind I think I got it lol
Cheers,

il2fb.exe is the exe file name.
Try a Vindows search for it.

Change your windows settings to show extensions, for example, .exe is an extension.
Windows default install is to block common extensions.
In any folder except IE, click on
Tools
Folder Options
View
Uncheck where is says "Hide extensions for known file types".
Try it again....
Good Luck.

Use the Forgotten Battles room not the IL-2 room on Hyperlobby. |

Have you tried moving the entire game folder out of the program files folder and into it's own folder in the C:\ root directory?
Copy and paste it, do not move and delete.
Then try again.
Vindows Vista seems to have a problem with that issue.
More idea's on the issue here.

Have you tried it with steam loaded? I know games purchased over steam look for the steam.exe before running, some sort of DRM rubbish. |
