Can't find the .exe file

Hi!

I got IL-2 1946 installed and patched to 4.08

Got hyperlobby yesterday but don't find any servers.
Sometimes HL tries to find the way to the .exe file, but can't find it anywhere... And neither can I... (being a complete retard when it comes to computerstuff - I just want to fly)
Any ideas?

Hi Driver.

when you launch hl make sure you choose proper lobby which is the forgotten battles lobby.

then let hl search for your game. If hl cannot find it you may have to change the name a little if you exe is spelled il2fb you may have to add the exe to look like il2fb.exe. Now if that's what you already have some times taking out the exe will work also so it would look just like il2fb.

P.S. Those exe files are in your main game folder incase you didn`t know. Wink

Also try a Vindows search for the il2fb.exe file.

If you are running Vista as an OS this can get a bit touchy.

Hi again!

I have Windows XP, not Vista.

Made a search and it found the file, but it did not have the .exe ending.
I went into the game folder and changed the name of the file from il2fb to il2fb.exe, but still HL can't find it...
Confused...

Change your windows settings to show extensions, for example, .exe is an extension.

Windows default install is to block common extensions.

In any folder except IE, click on

Tools
Folder Options
View

Uncheck where is says "Hide extensions for known file types".

Try it again....

Try manually pasting it into the Hyper Lobby window.

The path should look something like this.

"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe"
