Have you disabled all firewalls ?

If using Norton Internet security and maybe others disabling firewall still seems to block things.

Some routers do support loopback . Linksys, Billion and freeBSD all supprt it and I have no trouble looping back via HL with either my freeBSD based router or my Billion 711.

I also had this error and finally got HL working under Mandrake 10, Wine 0.91 , and initial setup of wine with http://members.iinet.com.au/~korhecz/linux_hl_dt.png

I have found that entering a line in the hlpro.ini as follows sets the server speed.

serverRate=2000

sets the hosting server rate to 14.4k

We have been testing with regards a possible bug with 3.5.60
