After reinstall on new PC, there is a grey box under Games in Progress.
Using the /b command, there is the same grey box and a white box.
Even though there is no chat line visible, using the /b command brings me back to normal chat mode.

Any ideas on how to fix please?

OS = XP

Never saw that one before. Did you try to use diff skins? Did it work OK with the previous version of HL?

Tried all skins that come with the s/w - same or very similar result.

Current version was working fine until I lost my OS HDD and re-installed.

Maybe it's a driver issue - using nvidia and latest drivers.
When I get some time, I'll change the drivers.

I was hoping it was a simple issue - guess not - ok, I'll put up with it FTB.

Thank you .....

Setting your windows font size back to 100% may solve this problem (Control Panel\Display)

I have always been impressed with Jiri and his HL and now I'm REALLY impressed.

When I saw Jiri's suggestion I knew he was right.
I immediately remembered that I'd changed the default DPI setting while trying to fix a different display problem and forgot to reset it. Resetting to default (normal DPI) has fixed that other problem too, by the way. Smile

In the overall scheme of things, this was a very minor annoyance, but it was really annoying - and is now no longer annoying me.

Thank you !
All hail Jiri !
