I wonder if it possible to turn off the auto disconnect feature?
Once In while I let run HL in background to check out which server are most populated, but connect without HL(due to different game versions*).
Now, if HL disconnects in the middle of game, it causes a crash back to desktop, and a result I lose force feedback which means I can restart the mission. Not so much fun if you just spent 20min just to climb up to 7km...
*which makes me wonder: is it possible to have multiple installations of HL with different game paths? |

One reason HL closes inactive users to save bandwidth.

You can switch game versions using the file path of the il2fb.exe eg:
1. Right click HL Connect button
2. When HL is open find "Edit Settings" in the HL "Menu"
Under IL2 1946 section > gamepath= [paste the il2fb.exe] .

Yes it is. Create new shortcut to the hyperlobby.exe and add there commandline parameter:
This will create new HL instance named "1" with independed settings ... |

There may be an easier way of doing this than installing multiple versions of Hyperlobby. You can do it in the settings. For example:
[IL-2 Sturmovik 1946]
joinDelay=20
clientRate=8000
;Determine the client source port. Useful when is more that one user behind the NAT router.
;Must be diferent for each user behind the same NAT router
localPort=21000
;This detecting right IP address for systems with more that one network adapters
;Default is 1 (on)
DetectLocalIP = 1
;Set to 1 when both server and client are behind a router
using
;private network address and both are behind one public ip address
loopback=0
;When is loopoback set to 1
here must be specified private ip address
; of the server behind a router
loopbackip=
Difficulty=2
serverPort=21000
MaxPlayers=8
Description=
gamepath=D:\Forgotten Battles
;gamepath=E:\1946stock
;gamepath=D:\1946up
;gamepath=G:\1946hsfx
All you need do is go into settings before going on a mission and rem out the versions you aren't playing, and enable the one you are. The ; in front of the command line is what rems out that line. |

I thought there might be a difference on how W7 handles user accounts and registry compared to W2K.
I am running 1946 servers on a W2K box/.I will give it a try. |

Well
All the above isn't a multiple installation of different HL's which is what he asked about.

Do what one ?
The multiple paths >
gamepath=D:\Forgotten Battles
;gamepath=E:\1946stock
;gamepath=D:\1946up
;gamepath=G:\1946hsfx
still needs you to close HL and search the exe's.
the -i 1 cant run 2 instances of the HL at the same time.
just saying........

I had to give one shortcut the -i 1 parameter and the second shortcut the -i 2 parameter to get them to keep their own log in information. |
