I new on-line games, but not to PCs and windows. I just downloaded and installed hyperlobby client. When I run it it asks me to choose a game. I have IL2-Sturmovik 1946, but that name is not specificly listed. So I choose the closest name. The exe for the 1946 game is IL2FB.EXE. Hyperlobby client says it can not find the exe in the specified path. The path is correct (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\). It seems to be looking for the old IL2.EXE instead of IL2FB.exe.
Is there a workaround? |

Did you find a way to allow HL to locate the il2fb.exe file? I too, seem to be having the same problem. The program looks in the Ubisoft/IL2 Sturmovik 1946 folder, but does not find the appropriate file.
Any help is appreciated. |

Nope. You have been the only response I've received so far. |

Ubisoft doesn't seem to have a lot of information on their site either. I'm hoping some additional information will be coming our way. Looking forward to flying MP in the new software. |

OK. I just found out you have to select Forgotten Battles when using 1946. I got it to recognize and save the exe path. But, now I'm still getting connection problems with error 12004. It may be due to my very tight network setup. |

what i did was logged into hyperlobby without any game recognized. than i went into the forgotten battles room and try to launch a game. of course the game didn't work because hyperlobby said there was no game installed. shut down hyperlobby after that and relaunch. hyperlobby will ask for the directory for forgotten battles. now direct to il2fb.exe file and it will be recognized by hyperlobbby and away you will go!
hope this helps. it worked for me

I took your advice and tried connecting to the Forgotten Battles channel and it finally found the 1946 Game Path. Then, when i tried to use 1946, that same game path didn't turn up. Does anyone know what is going on or has this happened to anyone else? |

I took the advice here and ran the hyperlobby. Now, hyperlobby doesn't ask for path but seemed like logging in but I get 2 different types of runtime error. (481 & 0)

My HL located exe file.
Before you click on the "connect" button with forgotten battle picked, hold on to the shift+ctrl button. Then it will pop up the file locating window. Let the program search for the file. Then it should work. Do not change the file name.
But I still get those runtime error. |

This is the worst online gaming system I have ever tried using. I can't play online either because it can't seem to find the game after I join a server. I've been trying for days now to play online and I'm just about to give up...This is terrible. |

It sounds like you guys are trying to play Forgotten Battles/1946 from the IL-2 Sturmovik room.
Can't do that.....
In my case, the path is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe
You can not use the older IL-2.exe or the FB.exe from the oldsr 4.04
and 4.05 in the Forgotten Battles room.
Not to confuse you but the (X86) on the path is because I have a 64 bit operating system.
Have a happy day.

Me too, I've pasted from elsewhere on this forum:
Hello all, before I speak of my problem I would would first like to thank Jiri and the rest of the people who have made Hyperloby. In theory it seems like a great place for all to meet and find others for multiplayer use. Firstly I'm a noob to this and have just begun to get back into flight sims and I'm ready to take to the skys. Anyways, I'm having tremendous difficulty getting Hyperlobby to to recognise my exe path. I'm currently running il2fb.exe for IL-2 1946 and unfortunately my path isnt recognised. Unique to my system is the fact I have IL-2 1946 installed on my D:\ drive which is also my Vista OS. For the record I also have it installed omn my C:\ drive which is my XP OS. In either case I get an error when trying to direct HL to my game path. My primary path I would like to use is "D:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe" for what ever reason HL doesnt like this location and cannot find or recognise the path. I have cut and pasted the locaton direct from my shortcut and also have put it in manually, my game version has been patched to ver 8m. Lastly, if I want to join the Forgotten Battles lobby (where many people seem to hang out) do I have to change and or rename the game path to "D:\Games\Forgotten Battles\il2fb.exe" Will my game version work within the FB lobby? BTW, I did try that on my C:\ drive installation and it still did not work, are the games required to be on te OS drive? I know the exe is the same name, are there any differences. When I join the lobby I see games and their green bar status, if I can get the path to work i should be good, correct? Anyways. Any help would be very much appreciated.
OK couple of other things I think may be relavent, yes, I have used the auto-search, it only finds the games when I point to the C:\ drive as the first drive to search. It instantly finds my renamed path C:\Forgotten Battles\il2fb.exe (this is a renamed version of "C:\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe") it also then finds the "D:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\il2fb.exe" when I pick either one HL wont recognise the path... sorry about the long post, I just thought a detailed account would be best...
thanks again all... |
