FBLauncher.exe gets the remoteHost IP from Hyperlobby, using the IP FBLauncher.exe sends a request to your emu.exe via a specified port, if emu.exe responds then FBLauncher.exe knows "Ubi emulation", if no response then "normal hosting mode". This would require an additional port besides the usual 21000.

Cool! That's a really good idea. Great, great thanks |
Yup this is the way to have a solution |
This sounds good!!!!

Guys,
I think it should be advised to all HL users about this software or a new HL client should be distributed with the FBServer inside. This way people should not change the exe name and so one.
Some people tryed to conect to my server, but all was refused. I think it's because they didn't have the FBServer. Am I right?

Yes, Version 2 of FB Server Kit should ideally be distributed as part of the Hyperlobby Client. Also some .bat file could be used to do the file renaming/placement to make installing even more comfortable.
In the meantime everybody running a dedi in HL should put some info at the top left into his HL server info (e.g. "FBServer v2 required from wildhoney.nightmail.ru/il2fb/") so people know what to do when joining this particular server, otherwise it would lead to confusion, when people try to join but can't, because they don't have FBserver installed.
Thanks to the brilliant tool from Wildhoney more dedis will be showing up in HL in the future, so people will get aware of the FBServer tool as a standard addon to Hyperlobby. Once installed the tool handles the different joining methods (dedicated sever or normal host) automatically - it's just perfect.

Schofei,
I would sugest something different.
The FBServer, the same way it's checking if a client is trying to connect to a dedicated server or not, should check if dedicated server is installed when user wants to host. If it's installed, it opens de dedicated server. If not, it opens il2fb in the original way.
Also it should detect automatically the path of FB and dedicated server the first time it runs and just ask user to confirm.
This way HL could ways call FBServer and no file rename should be done.
Is it possible?

Sorry, you missed the point! (although your suggestion is quite interesting when starting a host or dedi, if installed).
The dedicated server is already fired up and running when people try to join.
If FBServer is installed at the client side, then when joining it detects automatically whether it's a dedicated server or a normal host and launches IL-2 Client in the appropriate way.
Thus the "problem" is, if FBServer is NOT installed at the client side, people trying to join a dedicted server will timeout, which will lead to confusion.
So as long as FBServer is not part of the Hyperlobby Client distribution and installing process, people running a dedi at HL should include some info at the top left into their HL server info (e.g. "FBServer v2 required from wildhoney.nightmail.ru/il2fb/"), so a joiner would get FBServer and install it.

Schofei,
I'm sugesting that FBServer be part of HL client distribution. That's the point.

Guys,
I've tested a new way to install FBServer:
1. Create a FBServer directory inside UBI Soft directory;
2. Copy FBServer.exe to there;
3. Copy users directory from original FB directory;
4. Copy conf.ini from original FB diretory;
5. Rename FBServer.exe to il2fb.exe;
6. Run it and config the paths of original FB and Ded Server;
7. In HL config the FBServer\il2fb.exe as the FB path.
Advantages:
You dont rename the original il2fb.exe, so there is no problem with the desktop link and with the UBI.com and it works for all situations in HL.
Some one could do an installation program to do it automatically. (May be me. ).
Comments?

GOOD NEWS!!!
http://forums.ubi.com/messages/message_view-topic.asp?name=us_il2sturmovik_gd&id=ywrck
They finally released an open dedicated Server.
Now it's just up to you, Jiri . You "just" have to make this:
A dropdown box where you can choose between Normal or Dedicated, when hosting ( a DF or a mission in Team Room (!) ).
Of course the user has to enter 2 .exe paths then, the il2fb.exe and the il2server.exe or how it is called. |

For hosting a 1.21 dedicated in HL you have to install it first. Needed are the big 1.11 one (320MB) and the 1.21 patch (44MB) which already includes the 1.11open patch. Then you have to rename the il2server.exe to il2fb.exe. Now HL must use the dedicated .exe. When logging in, hold CTRL and SHIFT while pressing the Connect button. Now you will be asked for the .exe path where you take the dedicated il2fb.exe. Then host as usual, and it will start the dedicated instead of FB. |

Also understand that a dedicated server is just that.Dedicated.It runs on its own machine.You can not play from the same machine as a dedicted server. |
